Chasing Fireflies

There’s something about fireflies that never stops feeling magical.

When I was a little girl growing up on a farm in Missouri, summer nights were lit by tiny flickers of light dancing through the air. I remember running through the grass, chasing them with cupped hands and wide eyes. I couldn’t explain it then, and maybe I still can’t—but something about those moments stuck with me.

That quiet wonder. That soft glow. That feeling of being a part of something small and beautiful.

I’ve carried that memory with me ever since, and recently, I decided to turn it into something visual.

I teamed up with an amazing model, Hannah, and created a portrait that brought that childhood feeling back to life. 

It’s more than just a photograph. It’s a memory made visible.
