A Chance Meeting

Sometimes you just know...

I was checking out a new little bistro in our area when I saw Hannah. There was something about her—she exuded kindness and quiet beauty in a way that made me pause. Before I even introduced myself, I knew I would love to photograph her.

I decided to take a chance and approach her. We talked for a few minutes, and it confirmed what I had sensed right away: she’s as kind as she is beautiful. And when she mentioned she worked at a church just down the road, it made me like her even more.

It took a little while to align our schedules, and of course, the day that finally worked for both of us... it was supposed to rain.
We started our shoot in a parking garage just to stay dry. But the moment the rain let up, I had a specific idea and location in mind. We packed up quickly and raced to make the most of the remaining daylight.

That’s when we created the Firefly Portrait Series.

It’s one of my favorites—not just because of the final image, but because of the heart behind it. The spontaneity, the teamwork, the quiet glow of something that felt a little magical.

Hannah is truly a rare gem—full of kindness, grace, and a beauty that shines from the inside out.
We’re already dreaming up more projects to create together, and I can’t wait.
